When working with a professional pursuing an opportunity, we respectfully communicate via telephone and personal email. In effort to best serve the clients and professionals I work with - I spend a considerable amount of time genuinely getting to know people, what makes them tick, their dreams, natural talents, skills, accomplishments, how many kids they have, what kind of jeans they wear….the usual stuff.

I’ve found, identifying the best professional, who aligns with my client’s needs and vice-versa requires a bit of vulnerability and candor…for both of us.

Developing honest, trusting, productive, long term relationships is without question, the coolest aspect of my role. People are generally quite nice, authentic and genuine if you approach them in the same manor. Some, on the other hand are slow to loosen-up. Ironically, those that hold their cards closest seem to have the most revealing email addresses!

I laugh and love the insight gained when the intense SVP of Sales sends their resume from ‘beachbumrum@’

or

‘originaldeadhead@’

or

onehotmomma@

The professional recruiter in me, advises everyone to review his/her personal email address when communicating about professional matters- yet I am conflicted.

I appreciate the smile each unexpected email address provides and LOVE these nuggets of insight into the real person behind the resume, profile, title and persona. These emails are always the beginning of a great story.

Don’t change your address for me.

In case you are wondering, my nickname is ‘Mo” and my personal email address is ‘molicious16@gmail.com’- there is a great story behind this too but I’ll save that for another rant.

You are brave in subjecting yourself to my brain dumps-Michele
